The Milk of Human Kindness

When we cry, we reach for the stars we're missing
I'm the only one who can feel this rejection
Your chemical kiss left me immobile in a hospital bed
While you stole the milk of human kindness

I started as a rumour that you spread in quarantine
To prisoners of every day life in a bleak world after
Time stopped at your touch where your blood spilled
Onto thirteen stones entombed in your fear

This liquid sarabande is all we have left
After a single star fell into my hands
And obliterated the world around us

This star that fell, it is my desire for happiness
A feeling that came at the cost of everyone around me
It crushes me, but I can't go back to that isolation

I would surely die here with your heavenly host
In a mirage created as your last dolls fall
Into the pool of blood spilling from your fear
Creating six severed souls cursed to carry us home

When they cry, we reach for love despite our full hate
The world feels your rejection and rends itself apart
Your steel embrace left me immobile six feet under
While you violated the milk of human kindness

Draught King

I see myself in the bottom of a bottle
Thinking thoughts not my own
My absinthe serenade has just begun
Moonlight blinds my third eye

My memories hold me captive
In a two-faced embrace
To drown me in rosewater
Covers me in scars
From a self-destructive romance

The draught king takes my hand
Offering me my last dance
He leads my inebriate self
Through a maze of black orchids

Will you take the pain away
And put it in a secret painting
To immortalise me
I can't live like this any longer
My heart tears itself to shreds

I see myself in the bottom
Of a thousand bottles
Thinking thoughts not my own
My brain will not die
My absinthe serenade will never end
In unrequited self-hate
Written in blood on a white rose
The draught king blinds my third eye
